On the afternoon of October 25th, our school held the medical excellence class selection and mobilizationmeetingfor all 2020 clinical medicine (5+3 integration) students in the Basic Lecture Hall of Zhongdu Campus,with the theme of"Independence, Openness, Innovation and Excellence". The teachers from Office of Academic Affairs, the First Clinical Medical School, the Second Clinical Medical School, and the Third Clinical Medical School made exciting mobilization reports.
Professor Zhang Yanbo, the Director of the Academic Affairs Office, first gave the origin and connotation of the subject - New Medical Science - from three aspects including "cultivating the outstanding medical talents who are proactive and daring to make innovations". He introduced the current situation of our new medical excellence class and innovation class, with a comprehensive introduction on the top-level design of the clinical medicine 5+3 integrated excellence class. He pointed out that the school would be based on the principle of “innovating medical education with new medical disciplines”, implement the "Medical+X" and "5+3+X" training system, explore the "m-Active" training model, cultivate high-level innovative compound talents, to promote the development of Shanxi's higher education and health services.
Shuang Weibing, the Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office of the First Clinical Medical College, then gave a systematic introduction on the development of the discipline advantages, the training mode and the teaching training of the college, especially focused on the Da Vinci robotic surgery system, medical big data center, imaging omics research, and molecular imaging precision diagnosis and treatment of the provincial and ministerial collaborative innovation center of the first hospital.
Wen Hongyan, the Deputy Director of the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology of the Second Clinical Medical College, mainly talked about the new medical precision medicine class, the interpretation of precision medicine, and the clinical application and subject development of precision medicine treatment in the college. She encouraged the students to devote themselves into the study and scientific research of precision medicine.
Later, Liu Shiwei, the Director of the Endocrinology Department of the Third Clinical Medical College, introduced the brand advantage of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology with the theme of "Abide by the oath of medical students and inherit the spirit of Bethune", and Ge Wenjia made a report on the teaching situation of the college.
Zhang Yanbo finally pointed out in his concluding speech that the three affiliated hospitals of our school are the solid medical foundation in our province. With their own characteristics, they have high reputation in China. The students should be serious in the selection and followed their personal interests and desire.
It is reported that since 2019, our school has fully launched the "Six Excellence, One Top 2.0" training program, and all majors have fully launched "Excellent Class and Innovation Class". Among them, clinical medicine (5+3 integration) set up four directions:the new medical intelligent medicine class, the new medical precision medicine class, the new medical department Tongji excellent class and the new medical integrated curriculum reform class. The New Medical Excellence Class aims to cultivate young academic leaders and outstanding doctors in the medical and health field in the future.
