On March 26th, the editorial board meeting of Chinese Special issue of Allergy was held in Beijing, whose guest editor in chief is Professor Zhang Luo from Beijing Tongren Hospital, a well-known scholar at home and abroad. Thirty-two editorial board members from all over the country accepted the appointment certificates. Professor Zhao Changqing from the Second Hospital of our school was once again hired as the editorial board member.
It is the first attempt for publish the Chinese Special issue in the journal covering the research results of Chinese rhinology and the first time that a Chinese professor serving as the editor-in-chief. The chief editor of the journal also sent a video message from Switzerland, congratulating the Chinese rhinology colleagues on their achievements. He also expressed his expectations on more scientific and innovative achievements from Chinese rhinology colleagues in the new issue.
The cover of this issue is scientifically rigorous and full of Chinese elements. With the green grassland background, the Great Wall is the symbol of China. A pair of cartoon Chinese children look up at the stars and sending the DNA chaines towards the universe. The cover of the main body is four white Chinese characters which means "future and science" and they are particularly eye-catching and dazzling in the blue starry sky.
Dr. Changqing Zhao, the professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, published an article in this issue and shared the epidemiological situation of allergic rhinitis along Hus geographical indication line from northeast to southwest China, including etiology, morbidity, disease classification, etc. In particular, it was pointed out that moderate and severe allergic rhinitis was predominant in the TAIYUAN area, accounting for more than 90% of the number of people diagnosed in this local survey. These research results have important implications for the future development of relevant disease guidelines and the promotion of clinical research and treatment.
