April hath put a spirit of youth in everything. On April 12th, the Institute of International Education visited the Xinzhou Ancient City under the theme of " Appreciate the Beauty of Jin, Learn the Culture of China " . Fifty-seven students from Pakistan, Indonesia, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Tanzania and other countries completed the study under the leadership of the teachers.
Climbing up the steps along the southern city gate, what comes into view is a magnificent sight.The crystal clear glass, steep eaves, pavilions and railings all contributing to the simplicity, solemnity, beauty and elegance effect.When reaching the top of the building, we can overlook the Xinzhou Ancient City, which has thousands of years of history and contains the past and the present, including the cultural heritage left over from more than 1800 years, revealing the historical changes.
The history of the Xinzhou Ancient City can be traced back to the Eastern Han Dynasty, which has a profound cultural heritage. The Xinzhou culture represented by the folk culture of northern Shanxi, Buddhist culture, and Shanxi merchants has a long history.Department temples, city walls of city gates, ancestral temples, bazaar shops, each of the structures has it's own advantages. Like museums of culture in northern Shanxi, showing the historical development of Xinzhou.Strolling along the streets and lanes carrying the time code, the students recorded attentively. They actively discussed the history and culture of Shanxi, and felt the unique temperament of this ancient city.
Ji Shan, a classmate from Pakistan, said that ancient Chinese architecture is beautiful and amazing. Su Yifang, a classmate from Indonesia, said to his accompanying teacher, "this is the same as in the movie" when he saw Wengcheng in the Xinzhou Ancient City.
The students said one after another that they were highly impressed by the Xinzhou Ancient City, which has both cultural heritage and natural beauty. They also said that they should go to see more and learn more about Shanxi and Chinese culture in the future.
Through practical research, international students had a deeper understanding and experience of Chinese culture in textbooks, which deepened their love of Shanxi and China.
