The Academic Committee Meeting for the year 2023 of the Key Laboratory of Cell Physiology under the Ministry of Education was held at the fifth floor conference room of the Teaching and Administrative Building of Zhongdu Campus through a combination of online and offline methods. The meeting was attended by the Director and Vice Director of the Second Academic Committee, Academician Gao Tianming from Southern Medical University and Academician Gu Ning from Nanjing University, as well as committee members including Professor Xu Guangyin from Suzhou University, Professor Kong Wei from Peking University Medical School, Professor Xiao Junjie from Shanghai University, Professor Yuan Zengqiang from the Academy of Military Medical Sciences, Professor Liu Huirong from Capital Medical University, Professor Guo Xing from Nanjing Medical University, Researcher Xiang Ye from Tsinghua University, Professor Wang Sheng from Hebei Medical University, and Professor Zhao Qiang from Nankai University. Internal committee members including Professor Jiao Xiangying, Professor Cao Jimin, Professor Zhang Ce, Professor Lu Li, and Professor Zhou Xin were also present. The Dean of the School of Basic Medicine, Professor Lu Li, the Vice Dean, Professor Zhang Yu, Professor Wang Xiaohui, the Laboratory Vice Director, Professor Feng Qilong, and the leading academic teachers were present at the meeting.
During the first stage of the meeting, Professor Lu Li presided over and Jiao Xiangying, member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President, introduced the history and development of the university, expressed sincere gratitude for the in-depth guidance and strong support of the Academic Committee, and awarded appointment letters to the new members of the Academic Committee.
During the second stage of the meeting, Academician Gao Tianming presided over and Professor Cao Jimin, the laboratory director, reported on the progress, problems, and future development plans of the laboratory. The committee members and experts in attendance listened carefully to the report and engaged in a lively discussion on the problems and solutions facing the laboratory. While acknowledging the laboratory's achievements over the past two years, committee members put forward numerous suggestions for the laboratory's future development, including adjusting the laboratory's name, refining research directions, improving research levels, publishing high-quality papers, attracting and expanding high-level research teams, promoting collaborative and characteristic research, and improving management. The committee members expressed their commitment to providing consultation and guidance to assist the laboratory in advancing forward, and striving to make significant progress before the next evaluation by the Ministry of Education.
Professor Cao Jimin stated that he would thoroughly study and take action on the expert guidance, with the aim of achieving good results under the guidance of the new Academic Committee.
